This course aims to introduce learners to basic skills in ceramics making. Fundamental techniques such as pinching, coiling, slabbing, hollowing and glazing will be covered. In addition to acquiring the essential clay-making skills, learners will be able to apply knowledge of essential concepts relating to space, structure, proportions, composition and textures to their artwork.

Chang Shun Yee
Chang Shun Yee graduated from Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) with a Diploma in Fine Arts (major in ceramics) in 2013. She has a keen interest in sharing her knowledge and skills of ceramics-making with the public. Shun Yee has been actively conducting workshops at government schools, private studios, dragon kilns, and NAFA for the past ten years. Her audiences range from lower primary students to senior citizens. She is well-versed in clay-making techniques such as hand-building, throwing and slip casting, and often explores new and creative ways of creating ceramics.Reviews on Course
