This course aims to introduce the basics and practical know-how of creating and developing a comic strip, from conceptualising, and drawing to finishing art for print or web publication. It is recommended for beginners who have some basic skills in drawing. Topics include developing a unique visual language, storytelling with humour, composition, and drawing techniques.

Joseph Chiang
Joseph Chiang is an artist, printmaker and cartoonist. He is the founder of Monster Gallery, a creative print studio, and the Young Printmakers League, a mentorship programme supported by Noise Singapore. He was commissioned by the National Arts Council to organise the Contemporary Printmaking Festival as part of Singapore Art Week 2017. He has exhibited in Singapore and internationally. He was invited to exhibit his works at the 10th World Triennial of Original Prints and Engravings in Chamalières, France, in 2017. His latest work is “Chronicles of a Circuit Breaker”, a graphic novel depicting his life during the Circuit Breaker in Singapore in 2020.Reviews on Course
