This course aims to introduce type as a systematic solution through the structural application of the grid system. It is recommended for anyone keen to observe and apply details of micro-typography with consideration to the letter, word, line, and column. A keen sense of observation and a meticulous attitude is required to investigate legibility and readability in typography for hierarchy.

Winnie Tan
Winnie Tan graduated from Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague with a master’s degree in typography. She was the Programme Leader of Diploma of Advertising and Graphic Design at NAFA from 2015 to 2021 and received accolades from Type Directors Club, Slanted (Germany) and Creative Circle Interactive Media Awards Singapore. Winnie is now with the Centre for Lifelong Education, focusing on strengthening industry partnerships with art communities.
