This 1-day workshop aims to help you understand dementia and how it affects memory and a person’s behaviour. Our expert trainer will also equip you with the right strategies to care for someone with dementia. By the end of the workshop, participants will be able to define dementia, its stages, and its impacts on one’s cognitive function and identify strategies to care for someone with dementia.

P. M. Kumari
Ms Kumari is a Senior Lecturer in NYP. She has been teaching in NYP since 2007 and her specialty is in geriatric care. She is the main lecturer for Advanced Diploma in Nursing (Gerontology) courses for Registered Nurses working in nursing homes and eldercare environment. She was a Senior Staff Nurse/Nurse Clinician in the Psycho Geriatric unit in IMH from 2001-2007 and a Staff Nurse in the Adult Psychiatric unit in Woodlands Health from 1983-1987.
