Brain Power! A Mental Fitness Programme for Seniors

Participants will gain an understanding of brain health and explore the different kinds of mental and physical activities to stimulate brain function. Through this course, participants will be able to recognise the importance of the brain and its role in our daily activities, apply and practise mental activities to maintain brain function, recognise how each area of the brain controls and helps us carry out our daily activities, apply and practise mental and physical activities to improve brain function, develop strategies to increase memory function and brain fitness and apply and practise mental and physical activities to improve brain function.

Cheng Sheau Ping (Joyce)

Active since 2008, Joyce volunteers at O’Joy, Tsao Foundation, and Health Promotion Board, leveraging her psychology background. Engaging as a befriender, para-counselor, and Trainer/Facilitator for senior health programs, she holds a YIC-200 Yoga Instructor Certification since 2018. Joyce volunteered as a Chair Yoga Instructor at a senior activity center and is now an HPB-IG Chair Yoga Instructor. Alongside her Yoga Trainer partners, she co-founded Yoga Especially for Seniors (YES!), emphasizing flexibility, strength, balance, focus, and relaxation through deep breathing exercises. As a senior herself, Joyce tailors lesson sequences to address the specific needs and limitations of seniors.
